Oh, how my feet ache..

After a long rustling and bustling day back to uni, my feet ache. They feel swollen. Uni was full of newbies, and reminded me of the day i started uni. The memories of the anxious me, with butterflies in her tummy came flooding back. I had a lecture at 9.15, yes 9.15!?! What a nice start to another year at uni. There were crowds of international student, how alien they must have felt. The international students aren't always fluent in English, and all these directions and instruction posted around uni walls must feel so foreign to them. How scary, i certainly wouldn't opt to go to a foreign country to study.

There were also large crowds of newbies, most with a confuzzled look on their faces. Poor mites, new year, new place and new people. But come on, i felt like that once, But now i feel old in uni and it's a part of me now. Quite a big part, seen as i'll be there for another 2 years after this year yet. Good times.

On a side note, my budgie got attacked by a cat. And sadly it had to be put down today :(

Here is a snap of my budgies, once happily playing a way. And then along came the cat!?!
The one that died was an Albino, in comparison with the remaining two budgies she had a calm and girly personality. I'll miss you...

Farewell my budgies *hats off* xxx

My Verdict on Citizen Khan

So the latest must watch is Citizen Khan, it's filled with some humor, sarcasm and in all seriousness some stupidity. It's a six part comedy which makes you laugh and cry. The stupidity of Mr Khan 'Community Leader' if you say so makes me want to offer him a brain transplant. Or we could all chip in and donate him some brain cells, but i doubt that would do him good as his greed will get the better of him, he may end up selling the brain cells. Oh well...

For those of you who don't know, Citizen Khan is about a typical Pakistani family and it portrays some of the stupidest things that a man can only imagine. The 'Khan' family consists of Mr & Mrs Khan, and their two daughters Shazia and Aliya. Not to forget 'buddu' (the idiot AKA Amjad) the soon to be Son in Law of Mr Khan. Mr Khan is the most annoying and stingy person with his own set of Laws. In other words he does as he pleases as he is 'Community Leader' his words, not mine and everything and everyone else is below him. Oh my, he thinks he's the brain of all mankind, thank god he's not! Seriously he has NO brain! He does my head in, Mrs Khan, Shazia and Aliya would certainly agree with me...

Moving on to Mrs Khan, i applaud her. How on earth can she put up with such an idiot. She seriously needs to be rewarded for her patience with mankind, it is her who puts Mr Khan in his place and is probably the only one who knows how to...

Shazia, she is the straightforward and down to earth daughter of Mr Khan and also usually Mr Khans only target. She's the awkward one in Mr Khan's eyes. Unfortunately for her she's marrying Amjad the dimwit, who she adores and playfully calls 'buddu' and she certainly isn't lying.

Now this shall be a long one, Aliya. Aliya is the perfect daughter in Mr Khans eyes, she covers her head and she obeys her religion through following and reading the word of the Holy Quran. But this image of Aliya is far from true, she's a traitor! She wears her hijab only infront of Mr Khan, underneath the hijab she has blonde highlights! And she dresses far from modestly. But i think BBC kind of pushed the button a little when Aliya was reading a magazine and as soon as Mr Khan stepped in she pretended she was reading the Quran, behind which, while her fathers attention was elsewhere, she was texting. I personally feel this disobeyed the Quran, but it needs to be said, it gives a true insight into the hypocrisy of Muslims, unfortunately. In Mr Khans eyes she's perfect, but behind his back she does the opposite. She's not the ever so obedient daughter he thinks she is in fact just like him a hypocrite. She's a walking example of today's Muslims, she wears the hijab but defies the purpose of it with firstly the way she dresses, which is really not modest at all and secondly the way in which she wears her hijab.

In a hadith it is stated that the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:
“There are two types of the people of Hell whom I have not seen: men in whose hands are whips like the tails of cattle, with which they beat the people, and women who are clothed yet naked, maa’ilaat mumeelaat, with their heads like the humps of camels, tilted to one side. They will not enter Paradise nor even smell its fragrance.”
I know that this is what Muslim girls actually do, and in actual fact the comedy only portrays what Muslims actually do. But it just shows the injustice between two sisters. Although Shazia doesn't wear a hijab, truth be told she is a better Muslim than Aliya. Just try telling Mr Khan that! Extreme Hypocrisy!
Here are the Khan's...
These are just my views on the Khan family, feel free to add yours :)

P.s that's Dave the revert, with his arms around Amjad. But Mr Khan doesn't see him as a Muslim as he's not the same colour as him. He refers to him as 'the ginger Muslim' IDIOT

Tick Tock...

I have less than an hour to eat, pray, decide what to wear and get into town. However, i'd much rather procrastinate than get a move. I need to go shopping, like really badly, i'm back to uni in a weeks time, but like i said i'd much rather procrastinate. Anyway, i'd better get off now as times ticking on....

She killed a SPIDER...

It went like this...

Me: Something along the lines of  "Hey, are you back..." before i got cut off

"Oh my God, Guess what?" Leaving me no time to reply...

"I killed a spider!!!! I was getting my uniform and it fell on my hand, and I moved it with a hanger and it nearly DIED, It's legs fell off as well, I didn't kill it properly yet, it was still moving some of it's legs!"  *BIG SMILES*  The confessions of a 14 year with a phobia of SPIDERS! Hahaha, you make my day little one! This is what i was greeted with as she got in from school.

Poor spider, it had no time to save itself from the claws of a spider hater, who didn't really intend on killing it. Well she says it was still moving it's legs. It probably had a slow painful death afterwards, Poor Spider. I feel for you. I think this has been her biggest achievement since going back to school, But 'I didn't mean to kill it'

Poor spider...

Geekery..

Prepare yourselves for some greekery, my reading list is on the right. Let me know what you all think about my reading choices. I would love to know if you have read any of the books? And maybe share what you thought of the books you read?

Note to self, you do NOT start a sentence with 'and', some long due grammar lessons!

Some Randomness...

I *think* i should be starting uni in like 3 weeks. I need to find out for definite yet, that means i've been home for like 4 months now :-0. 4 months of random musings, nothing much going on except Ramadan and then Eid. Thinking back 4 months have flown, and have been a little boring. When i'm back to studying i have so many ideas of what i would have much rather done instead of s t u d y! Story of my life...

Let's make a list of what i have actually done during my period of *taking a hiatus*:
-Reading
-Shopping for Eid
-Plenty of baking ( i can't remember what i did with the photos of my cupcakes)
-Some ready to roll icing modelling
-Random surfing of the net
-Some Birthday celebrations
-A bit of research into my new module subjects (and that's 5 subjects!?!?)
-Had a few *dying of boredom* moments

Not done much, i actually found holidays boring. I'm one of those people who actually like to have something to do, as it keeps me going. Sitting doing nothing gets on my nerves, i CANNOT sit and twiddle my thumbs, it irks me to no end! To top it off i HATE watching TV, I watch Casualty but that's usually on my laptop during the week or something. I am a little boring and ermmm n e r d y. So that should pretty much sum up what's going on in my life during my break. I actually can't wait to dive back into my uni workload. I'm looking quite forward to it.

However, yes there has to be 'however', that's life. If you remember the my timetable post, i kind of expressed my love for my timetable there and had my fingers crossed that it won't change. Well guess what? It not only changed once but TWICE! And since there's 3 weeks to go until uni starts, there is a possibility of it yet changing...again! So i don't have 2 days a week off now, but only 1. Yes 1 day off a week, excluding weekends. At the moment i only have one late finish, so there is light at the end of the tunnel :) But i was warming to my first timetable, i have too much free time between lectures and seminars with the new timetable :( But then again free times better than lecture, I suppose. Oh well, i just hope it plans on staying this way now.

On a side note, schools are open that should mean the brats are off the streets and back into classrooms :)

Cheerio for now folks *big wavey*

:) x
